Recently, there has been a ton of buzz about Neill Blomkamp's upcoming film, District 9. Well, one thing that most people don't know is that it is based off of a short film, Alive in Joburg, done by Blomkamp a few years ago. The short is about aliens who have taken refuge in South Africa, just as District 9 is, and it also looks almost identical. It's a great short, and can be seen below!
