Wow, Kit Kittredge beats Sex and The City...Hancock pulled in roughly 107 million dollars over the 6 day opening, with 66 million of that coming over the weekend, almost doubling Wall-E's weekend, 33.5 million dollars.

So, looking for something to rent this week, here are your noteable DVD releases for this Tuesday...

Batman: Gotham Knight
- Joe Strummer: The Future is Unwritten
One of the better docs from last year. Not the greatest documentary, or even the best Clash documentary, but it's solid, and is worth a rent...
- The Ruins
Torture flick...skip it...
- Sleepwalking
Small little film from earlier this year, starring Charlize Theron. Thats really all I know about it, so, I'll be checking this one out, as should you.
- Stop Loss
Not the worst Iraq War film, but one that is skipable. It's really only worth your time for the great performance by Joseph Gordon Levitt.
- Superhero Movie
Really, is this even appealing to any of you? Skip it..

~DVD Pick of The Week~
Batman: Gotham Knight
6 Interlocking stories, 6 acclaimed anime directors, all produced by the people behind Batman Begins and Batman: The Dark Knight. Oh, did I mention they have the voice actor behind Batman: The Animated Series back to reprise his role as the Caped Crusader. If you have been reading the blog, you know that I'm really excited for this, as you all should be. Anime may turn off some, as I know it does to me sometime, but it's Batman, and really, outside of a mediocre Clash doc, you have nothing new, so give it a shot.

Also, this Friday we have three wide releases, the Eddie Murphy vehicle, Meet Dave (avoid), The 3D "epic" Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D (avoid), and the pick of the week, Hellboy 2: The Golden Army. I'll be checking out Hellboy this weekend on my trip to Birch Run, and you all should see it too. Guillermo Del Toro is one of the better filmmakers that we have today, so support anything the guy does, even the upcoming Hobbit movie.

Some big Indy 4 news...

Hey guys! Heres a few blurbs of news for this monday the 21st...

-Seth McFarlane, the voice of some of the characters on Family Guy, will be voicing Johann Kraus in the upcoming Hellboy sequel...
-The first Indy 4 review came out today. Here are some of the noteable blurbs
- "The best of the Indy sequels.”
- “The film has the strongest supporting cast of the sequels.”

-In BIG superhero news, test screenings of The Incredible Hulk have come out with two things. Mixed thoughts on the film, and the shock of seeing Tony Stark, Iron Man, in the film. Yes, the rumors are true, Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr, does make a cameo appearence in the Incredible Hulk.

Couple of posters...Hellboy/The Spirit...DVD Recomendation

Hey guys! Just thought I would drop in and let you all check out a couple of recently released posters for Hellboy 2, and The Spirit, based on Will Eisner's graphic novel. Also, come back in about four hours to check out the teaser trailer for the Spirit...So, here are the posters....

Outside of that, there really isn't any news worth noting, so here is a DVD recomendation for you all....

Once is a story of an Irish musician played by real life musician Glen Hansard, who is the lead singer of a small band called the Frames. One day, he meets a girl played by Marketa Irglova, and they begin to play together, and fall in love. Now, I didn't see this one in theatres, but after hearing all of the unanimous praise that it got out of Sundance and once it hit theatres, I had to check it out. It was really worth it. Michael Phillips, critic for the Chicago Tribune called it "possibly the greatest music film of our generation", and well, I think he has something there. This film is truly amazing. I'm not going to say anything else about it, because I went in totally blind, and it made the experience that much better. Please check this out. Here's the Trailer...
