Alright, so this may seem like a weird top 10, but there is a reason behind it. News has come out today that Terrance Howard, Col. James Rhodes in Iron Man, has now been replaced by Don Cheadle in the upcoming Iron Man 2, and will take over as War Machine when he is introduced. Now, I have no problem with replacing actors, especially if they are as brilliant an actor as Mr. Cheadle is. However, sometimes casting is so perfect, you can't do it. Here are the ten best casting choices in comic book film history...
10. Mickey Rourke (Marv, Sin City)
9. Toby McGuire (Spiderman/Peter Parker, Spiderman series)
8. Liam Neeson (Ra's Al Guhl, Batman Begins)
7. Kevin Spacey (Lex Luthor, Superman Returns)
6. Christian Bale (Bruce Wayne/Batman, Batman Begins/Dark Knight)
5. Ron Pearleman (Helboy, Hellboy series)
4. Brandon Routh (Superman/Clark Kent, Superman Returns)
3. Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark, Iron Man)
2. J.K. Simmons (JJ Jameson, Spider Man films)
1. Patrick Stewart (Proffesor X, X-Men series)
HONORABLE MENTION: Thomas Jane (Frank Castle/The Punisher, The Punisher)
Now, these are not the ten best performances in comic book movie history, although this may just be what mine would look like, it's only casting. I know people will say, "where's Heath???", well, he was amazing, but I think there are better choices to play the Joker. While they may not knock it out of the park like Ledger did, I think there may be some solid casting choices to reprise the role (Crispin Glover anyone?) Same goes for Danny DeVito as the Penguin. To me, Bob Hoskins would be the best Penguin, so it won't make the list.
