Wow...Chihuahuas for the win...Beverly Hills Chihuahua grossed roughly 29 Million dollars...really people? If any of you have seen it, let me know how it was...I have lost pretty much all hope for humanity...I say most, because we will have to wait untill November 4th for me to lose all faith...

So, this upcoming Tuesday doesn't look to busy for DVD's, but there are a few to highlight...
- The Happening
Possibly the worst film of the year so far, saved only for the fact that Zooey Dechanel is gorgeous, and M. Night Shamhammer has a blatant style, and I give the guy a little credit. Just avoid this one like the plauge...unless you drink, and then maybe it could be some fun if you have some friends over...
- You Don't Mess With The Zohan
Again, avoid at all costs.
- The Visitor
A solid little indie drama starring Richard Jenkins, who we have recently seen in Step Brothers and Burn After Reading. This made my last top 10 of the year, and is one that you should definitley check out.

-DVD PICK OF THE WEEK-
PARANOID PARK
This Tuesday, you have one movie you must see, and that is the newest film from Gus Van Sandt, Paranoid Park. It's haunting, poetic, beautiful, and most of all, brilliant. Aside from the Dark Knight, this may be the best film I've seen all year, and come this Tuesday, it may just be my favorite. This is right up any Van Sandt fan's wheelhouse, and if you like movies that strive to be art instead of a way for people to show off their Chihuahuas, then this movie is for you. I don't even consider it a movie. It's a piece of art.

If you are looking for something to check out this weekend, then you have a few choices. First is the sports formula movie, The Express, about the first African American winner of the Heisman Trophy. If you don't like sports or movies about sports, then you have the family film, City of Ember, starring Bill Murray as the king of an underground city, or the new Kiera Knightley, critic loved, period piece, The Dutchess. Finally, you also can choose between the new "home movie" style horror film, Quarantine, or the star studded Ridley Scott political thriller, Body Of Lies, starring Russel Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio. Oscar season has started...
