NEWS: Giants, Hex, and Japanese Watchmen...

Hello faithful readers! So, it looks like news is finally coming in, and without any more stalling, here is the headlines...

- Mickey Rourke has joined Jet Li, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Forrest Whitaker, Ben Kingsley, Sylvester Stallone and UFC fighter Randy Couture in Stallone's next directorial explosion, The Expendables. This is looking to be the ultimate action film. More on this film as it goes into shooting in March...

- Terminator: Salvation director McG, who I had thought would be going into T5 stage after TS was finished, will indeed be working on another project, an adaptation of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea...

- Eagle Eye director, D.J. Caruso will be directing a film called Jack The Giant Killer, an adult take on Jack and The Beanstalk...

- Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have been tapped to play the bumbiling detectives, Thompson and Thomson in the upcoming film adaptation of Tin Tin...

- In a recent interview with MTV, Josh Brolin had nothing but great things to say about the new director of the much talked about Marvel comic book film, Jonah Hex, Horton Hears a Who helmer Jimmy Hayward. While I do feel like the choice of director is insanely wierd, the news here is that it looks like JB WILL be staying on as the titular character, which keeps this film from being relegated to the back of my mind.

- George Clooney, Ridley Scott, and Marvel Studios Chairman David Maisel had a lunch meet before the holidays. Now, that whole sentence may be a little pretentious to call news, but when you put it in the context of knowing that Marvel is currently on the hunt for a director and star to take over their Dr. Strange film, then it's pretty big.

- According to Latino Review, it looks like Warner Brothers is now taking pitches for Superman: The Man of Steel, and are SPECIFICALLY looking for some villain, other than Lex Luthor, to be the main baddie in the much anticipated sequel...

- Finally, here is a new Japanese trailer for Watchmen...it kicks ass, so enjoy!

That's all I've got for now, so come back later for more news and notes...

Go see something good!
