TRAILER: Last House On The Left...

I really normally hate remakes. However, some films are completely ripe and ready to get a second chance on the big screen. I personally prefer re-releasing films, but in the instances of Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street, I think they could both gain from current technology, and have the capabilities of being a really great series that just needs to be rebooted. However, this remake has me quite puzzled. Rouge Pictures, who just released the first trailer for Dito Montiel's Fighting, has continued their roll by releasing this new, kind of fun looking, trailer for the Wes Craven produced remake of his own feature debut, The Last House On The Left...

I had mentioned this about three months back during Halloween season, as a possible remake that could work, but had no idea that it was actually being done. I love the original, and it's a very dark and just insane film, that looks to be a pretty solid remake. I ESPECIALLY love the very creepy, if a little wierd, cover of Sweet Child O' Mine by Taken By Trees. What are your thoughts on this? Have any of you seen the original? Does this look interesting to you? Why haven't you all seen Funny Games?

HERE'S THE PLOT SYNOPSIS - Masters of horror Wes Craven and Sean Cunningham revisit their landmark film that launched Craven’s directing career and influenced decades of horror films to follow: The Last House on the Left. Bringing one of the most notorious thrillers of all time to a new generation, they produce the story that explores how far two ordinary people will go to exact revenge on the sociopaths who harmed their child.

The night she arrives at the remote Collingwood lakehouse, Mari (Sara Paxton) and her friend are kidnapped by a prison escapee and his crew. Terrified and left for dead, Mari’s only hope is to make it back to parents John and Emma (Tony Goldwyn and Monica Potter). Unfortunately, her attackers unknowingly seek shelter at the one place she could be safe. And when her family learns the horrifying story, they will make three strangers curse the day they came to The Last House on the Left.
