NEWS: Bryce Dallas Howard's Quarterlife Crisis...
It looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree when it comes to film.
Bryce Dallas Howard has sold her first feature length script, for a film entitled The Originals, to her father, Ron Howard, and his production company, Imagine Entertainment.
Penned along with her writing partner Dan Charbeneau, THR has described the film in their article on it as "an ensemble film about a group of twentysomethings who reconvene for a weekend in New York after learning that the teacher who shaped their childhoods has fallen into a mysterious coma". The film was conceived as a way to explore the quarterlife crisis that befall so many twentysomethings.
There is much talk as to who may helm the project, but it seems likely that it may be her father's next project, or a project in his pipeline. The writing duo did end up showing the project to Ron Howard, and as THR also reported, he seemed to think that it may be a good antidote to the huge budget projects hes been working on for the past few years.
However, nothing is really set in stone, which always makes for an interesting discussion. Who would YOU like to see take the helm of this project. Me personally, I would love to see Darren Aronofsky or say Rian Johnson work on this after the two finish their next projects (RoboCop and Looper respectively). What about you?
Go see something good!
