NEWS: Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper Join A-Team...

A while back, there was a rumor that took the internet by storm. IESB reported that, back in May, Bradley Cooper was getting ready to join the cast of the Joe Carnahan directed adaptation of the hit TV series, A-Team. Cooper then denied the report as actors are wan to do, but now it seems like that may be true.

Variety is reporting that Cooper is indeed in discussions to take up the role of Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck in Carnahan’s A-Team adaptation. However, what makes the report all the more interesting is that joining him in the realm of "in discussions" is Liam Neeson. In talks to play the lead, Col. John “Hannibal” Smith, it looks like the project is begining to take shape, in hopes of making it to shoot later this summer.

Both actors are currently on the tips of everyone's tounges with their recent hits, with Coopers turn in the subpar (it gets lower in my books the further I am away from it) Hangover, and Neeson's badass turn in the actually solid actioner, Taken, so it should come as no surprise that these two are being locked into many big budget roles. Also, it certainly helps that they are both perfect for their respective roles. I like both actors, an Carnahan is definitley a well versed action director.

That said, while I'm not a fan of the TV series at all really, I don't think this film will be welcome with open arms by critics. Really, someone is going to recast a role made famous by Mr. T? Who is similar to Mr. T? I will answer that with a simple answer. Mr. T. Oh, and it totally gets my hyphy for the project knowing that the writer behind Hitman, Skip Woods, is writing the film. That makes me SO excited. It's not like he also helped write the schlock fest that was Wolverine.

Expect much more news on this story as it develops.

Go see something good!
